Challenge

LATAM Airlines faced challenges in cabin crew training, including the need to reach more trainees, improve the cost-effectiveness of training experiences and increase the pass rate in initial courses to ensure the quality and safety of commercial flights, as well as having metrics to evaluate the performance of staff training processes. 

Solution

The solution came through NTT DATA’s Syntphony Immersive Experiences, which implemented virtual reality training. This innovative platform enabled immersive practices in critical scenarios, increasing participant engagement and understanding. In addition, it achieved a long-term cost reduction by minimizing the need to use aircraft on the ground for practice, thus optimizing resources and improving the efficiency of the educational process. 

Result

Thanks to the implementation of Syntphony, crewmembers can practice critical procedures such as evacuations, fire management and door operation in a highly realistic and safe environment. The result? A reduction in training time from 4 hours to 90 minutes, increased cost efficiency and a 100% pass rate in trained courses.
